Default DSM 450 injector install cant get idle right!

I installed my dsm 450 injectors into my d16y8 turbo setup, t28 on 7psi (the edelbrock kit) with a chipped p28 and i gapped my spark plugs at .028 which is what i was told to do. But i start my car and the idle is fine for about 40 seconds and then it just drops and the car basically dies. I used 10watt 10 ohm resistors and resoldered them into the stock wiring harness, checked all the wiring and it seems fine. Anyonme have any suggestions? can anyone stop by and take a look who has done this before? any help would be appreciated thanks

Pull the plugs and see if its dying because its running too rich.

You can also check for voltage at the injector plugs and see if your resistors are working properly.

get it tuned, or get real injectors, DSM crap is scary, USED for one thing, DSM for another, and not worth the risk of a blown motor lastly.

Alright, you've got a chipped ECU... What map do you have in there? Are you sure you're setup correctly for 450's?

DSM injectors will work fine, if they are tuned to your specific application(single cam turbo)...but if it is not leaned out in any way or corrected your car will continue to idle poorly and die

sounds like your ECU is not setup for 450CC injectors. What type of management are you using?

platinum.

Sounds like its also not set to idle w/o fitv flowing air. If it takes 40 secs to warm up, and it dies when that valve closes... my guess would be to re-set the idle screw (iacv & ac off, engine warm, idle to 400rpm). I'd guess its more of an ecu issue, but I can say for sure its more than just 1 problem you'll have to solve.

i had the car running fine on my friends ecu which is an obd1 ecu setup for a del sol with a d16z6 14b turbo setup w/ 450s at like 10psi only problem is that i cant have his ecu obviously, so i need to find other obd 1 ecu's and use them and see if it works fine, then ill kno if my ecu is fried and i can drive it out to get tuned since i cant even drive it to get tuned, so i already kno that my resistors are working

Like already stated is your ECU setup for running 450 Injecters?

Im guessing it isnt, if he said he used his friends and it ran fine, then tried his, which im guessing is just a stock virgin ecu that would explain everything.

so how does it run off idle???? and by the way, DSM injectors are known to "work" but in my opinion idiotic to risk using cheaply made prone to having problem injectors when you can get a good set of aftermarket ones that are balanced and flowtested for not much more.

hell, i have a home made turbo kit that included dsm 450 bluetops, and i will tell you, they dont flow right, the always idle like crap on any basemap, and are VERY prone to being bad from sitting in the junkyard, sitting in the driveway not running, on the shelf, etc.....

on the record, DSM 450s are a bad idea if you care about your motor staying alive.

but to help you, how does it run off idle???

He said it ran fine on his Friends ECU. So that would cancle out the idea that the Injecters were bad.

take the chip from your friends ecu and put it in your ecu.. if it runs ok, its the chip.. if it doesnt.. your ecu is fucked... its not rocket science??!?!!!?

yes, but it doesnt cancel out the fact that it needs tuned. and i wasnt really saying the INJs where bad now, just that they are prone to going bad.
