I just got a dump tube made an ive been hearing all these people saying it sounds loud an beastly when open. well mine doesnt. sounds normal to me. got any idea why that is???

 

Is your wastegate opening? You should be able to tell the distinct difference in sounds.

For example...turbo spool, spool, then WAHHHHHHH (WG opening), type sound.

For example...turbo spool, spool, then WAHHHHHHH (WG opening), type sound. </TD></TR></TABLE>nope..just the..just here the bov i think. it boost 7psi so it seems to be opening. but i shift at 4500rpm...right about when hit it hits full boost. maybe that why. maybe after i get it tuned an bring it up in rpms it will get louder.

But anyways. You should definitely hear a distinctly louder sound when the wastegate opens up. Are you sure it's opening up?

 

if it wasnt opening up..wouldnt it boost more then 7psi?

 

If the spring is &gt; 7psi then no at that rpm because I would think that a larger spring might cause it to not open that much yet. Before I only hit 4-5psi and it wasn't loud at all. If it is fully open you should definantly hear it. I finally tuned my car on 10psi (wastegate spring) and you could definantly tell. damn thing got loud as hell!

 

yeah..7psi spring. I do her a shhhhhhh noise if im in higher gear an hitting 7psi around 3-4k. is that it?? its not loud thow. i think maybe im not hitting high enough rpm to notice the noise level?? what u think?
