help broken header bolt stuck on head

Default help broken header bolt stuck on head

hey well i have a sohc and i broke half of the head bolt that goes to the header inside the head i need help how to get it out or what do i have to do ?? thanx

i think sears sells stud removers, its like a drill bit

or you can take it to a machine shop.


but dang, how did u manage to break em?

drill a little hole in the center then grab a extractor kit...pound the proper size extractor into the hole you previously drilled and thehn use a open end or crescent on the extractor...then retap the threads or helicoil dat shiet...good luck

exactly, what the hell did u do? cross thread it. do what the last guy said, but try the stud remover from craftsman first.
i would
1. try stud removing tool
2.Try vise grips
3.drill hole through center of stud and drill hole........if u get to this point, use a center punch first, then drill with a small drill bit and work your way up.

If you drill the hole stud out, u run a chance of fu@king the threads up in the head.
