alright, now cannot get power...
i had the converter installed to my factory radio. I plug all wires into the amp, the power, remote, ground, rca's, and of course speaker wire. I touched the ground under the seats, in trunk, any damn bolt and nut i could find...nothing. I don't even know if the damn power is running from the battery, got so irritated i just touched the ground to the power just to see...no spark, thought there should be. Fuses are fine. Everything connected right, don't understand, pretty damn irritating. Maybe something isn't right, or just not grounding in the right place...suggestions??
Well, if you touched the ground to the power and got no sparks, then obviously it isn't a good ground... If you've tried every bolt and nothing is working, then you'll need to make your own...
What kind of amp?
Not sure I understand about the ground, you "touched the ground under the seats in trunk" what does that mean?
You connected the ground and tried the amp and it did not work, the reconnected to some other point and tried the system again or you had the system on and you tried to find a ground by touching the amps ground lead to what you thought would be ground?
Also not sure about touching the ground to the power "just to see" do you mean you touched a grounded lead to the power wire or you touched the amps ground lead, [the lead connected to the amps ground terminal] to the amps power lead?
If it was the latter of the 2, [touched amps ground lead to amps power lead] then if amp chassis was not grounded, [screwed to or touching ground] you would not get a spark, [on some amps even if the amp chassis was grounded you would still not get a spark, amp chassis is isolated from amps electrical ground]
If you mean the first of the 2, [touched ground lead to power] that would be a lead connected to the cars chassis, and there was no spark, the the ground was bad. [no ground] as B18C_EJ8 mentioned or the power connection is no good.

Do you have or can you borrow a test light or multimeter?
