Ground Loop Question
Hey guys I have a kenwood 12" sub and a pyle pla2200 amp that I just put in.
The power and ground are both 8 gauge and I made sure to connect them to bare metal.
The RCA wires are twisted and have the protected coating. I ran the rca wires with the remote wire (but seperate from the power). Is that a problem?
After the install, I realized I have some serious alternator whine. Also, the sub will pulse consistently when I turn the radio on (not to the beat of the song).
I did some research and found out about ground loops. I'm betting that is the cause of my problems. Basically my question is: what is the best way to run it to one ground?
I was not sure if I could just splice the ground wire for the HU and run it back with the amp ground or if it was more complex than that.
Thanks in advance!

it really doesnt matter where you run the rcas. but power wires or not.
try getting a cap, youll prolly draing you battery and your alt is trying to keep up and cant.. that our you need a new belt.
the way you grounded it is good. thats how most people do it anyways.

try a ground loop iso. if not get a cap
Getting a cap will put just another strain on the electrical system; they take electricity to charge, they dont "make" power.
Is your amp casing touching bare metal also? If the ground wire isnt the only thing touching bare metal, make it so it is.

hey guys thanks for you input so far
alright i mounted the amp onto the box, and now the whine is gone. I didn't see any metal touching the amp before, but whatever it works and im not going to question it, lol
HOWEVER, the sub is still just pulsing. it makes no difference where i turn the volume on the HU. I can have the volume at 0 and it will still pulse at the same pace/level as if the volume was at 30. Anybody know what this is about?

lol i feel dumb now but i think i figured it out
the rca wires that connect the the HU kept getting pulled out because i didnt give them enough slack
works good now lol

when the bass hits the amp sucks alot of power and that drains the battery and the alternator trys to keep up and cant. and frys,
thats why you put a cap in.
