Default NC REGISTRATION no notary

okay i bought this car a year ago and never looked at the title except to check for vin verification... i go to register it and the kid never had the title NOTARIZED.... I guess in NC and PA you have to.

my question... does it have to be notarized in NC or if i know someone willing to notarize it can they do it in NY?

I'm pretty sure it just has to be notarized. You have to get the guy you bought it from to be present, though.

Its kinds of wierd...if you are buying it from a different state, or if you did, he could have went to a notary and signed it over to you but in PA you both have to be present or it starts a whole mess of paperwork, or atleast thats what i was told when I called a notary...pretty much you need to get ahold of him and have him come to a notary with ID to....if not you have to 2 options...find someone with a notary lisence that will sstamp it saying that his sig is legit(tahst the illegal way) or call your state and see what they suggest...most likely they will tell you to contact the previous owner...if you can get ahold of him you can fill out some paper work to get the title transfered but i blieve it will become a salvage title then

ha ha good luck with that all he has to do is report the car stolen and he will get it back for free with all your $5000 invested, I'd be very nice to him if i were you...You shouldn't have paid for the car till you were sure the title was in your name

Good luck man, that sucks, but you gotta learn somehow, I bought my one integra kind of like that but I was lucky enough that he acctually did have it notarized, i didn't see the stamp right away and didn't even know to check for it but everything was cool when i went to transfer the title...

The only thing the salvage title really wille ffect is if you ever plan on selling the car again...but you never would get what you put into it out anyways, let us know how things work out good luck

FL don't require a notary. Should just register it in FL that way you wouldnt have a salvage title.

NY doesn't require a notary either but NC ( where the title comes from) DOES
