is this the timing.
94 civic ex with a 1.6 l vtec. new dis cap new starter new radiator. lol whatever. but when we try and crank it over it would (not) fire. so we checked the fuel reg which was clogged. so i got a new one. it still doesnt start. we think the timing is off. because it doesnt smell like gas. but i need to know if this is prolly the timing being off or if it could be sumthng else....

Il rephrase that for SoHc94, just for fun.
I have a 94 civic ex with a 1.6 liter VTEC. It has a new distributor cap, new starter, and a new radiator, however when i try to crank it over it wont fire, so i checked the fuel regulator, which happened top be clogged, and got a new one, and it still wont start. I think the timing is off, because i dont smell gas, however im not sure. What do you think: is the timing off or should i try something else to get it to start?

or no injector pulse because you dont smell gas, the more important question here is, was the car running before you did all the stuff to it, if it was I doubt its the timing, btw if the timing is off you could still smell gas, but being unable to smell gas is a horrible way to diagnose a car, I would let a mechanic take a look at it to save you some grief but if you want to do it on your own, check to see if there is spark, and to see if the plugs are wet, and to see if the injectors pulse first.
