i wanna buy a block gaurd but what does it do? does it add horsepower can some one please tell me what it does thanks Dean

 

It strengthens the sleeves so you can run higher boost/more HP. I wouldn't worry about it, full-race made 470whp on a d16a6 block with stock sleeves, but then again, you're not full race,

 

a rule of thumb: it would be wise not to install anything on your car unless you know a decent amount about it

i'm not trying to be mean here but why would you want something when you don't know what it does?


you don't need a block guard until you are making high numbers.

its a cheap way to strengthen your motor and not have to add aftermarket sleeves (which are a lot more expenisive)

 

well could i put it on a stock 1.5 block and will it mess my motor up cuz im about to put a y8 vtec head on my block

 

even with a y8 on a 1.5 you won't need the blockguard.
