Default your suggestions

hey guys i was wondering if you guys would give me your suggestions to a few different problems i have with my 1995 civic ex.

1. the stripping right above your door. both mine are pretty messed up and in my attempt to fix it i cut to much off so how if it rains it will leak into the door panel. i called honda and to get a new one is $55 per side and i need two. no junk yards in the area have them, what would you do?

2. on the left side of my panel where i can slide it to blow hot or cold air then light is kind of broken it is very dim. anybody else experience this problem, ive seen it a couple times with 5th coupes here in town. what would you do?

3. on my drive side wheel well the fender lining it coming off and so it rubs on my wheel everyonce in a while, how would i retack that?

Sorry for no pictures but my camera is dead as soon and i get some life in it i'll take pics of what im talking about. thanks in advance

1. I replaced both sides with new parts from honda

2. one of your climate control bulbs is out, there are 2, replace them.

3. check the mounting spots (2) in the fenderwell on the frame and make sure theyre there, and check inside the fender, sounds like its torn and needs to be replaced but maybe youre just missing clips.

1.) Good thing water that goes in there goes right back out the bottom of the door and not into the passenger compartment. If you're getting water in your car it's not from that leak. I'm not sure what your problem is, exactly. If water is coming out of your door panel that would be rather strange, as most people with these cars have sill moldings that are cracked and completely apart from the window and never notice the difference.

2.) The dim/broken lights in that area are - unfortunately - rather common. It's not worth the hassle of replacing them.

3.) If you use the Integra wiring harness, it'll have a clip for a 4-wire oxygen sensor and the engine should have a 4-wire sensor already in it. You should be good to plug-and-play-and-go

would it be dumb to take a clear caulking and put it on there and then run my finger over it just so it seals it?

haha, try this one on for size, i bought(from honda) both of those moldings, the molding that go up the b pillar on the door, both weatherstrippings, the black molding at the top of the door on the car, both door sills, the weatherstipping on the trunk, and the lenses for the liscense plate lights. all totaled over 500 dollars!, but it looks good. anyways, got to pay to play. buy a new one if you want something clean

1 Save your money and just buy the weather strip from Honda.

2 the light is burnt out. I wouldn't spend the time to fix it unless i was taking the dash apart for another reason.

3 Either get fasteners from Honda to reattach the piece or go to auto-zone or similar store and get a fastener from there.

Personally I didnt think that $55 each is that bad. maybe its just me. But, if you cant find any in a junk yard or on eBay... Yes, get them from Honda

<<paid $8 each for LCA shock bolts.

Sometimes there aren't any other options other than the dealership for parts and yes it sucks, but if you want it to be right then that's what you have to do. I wouldn't try and put some jury-rigged sealant on there, you will be dissappointed, just suck it up and pay the $110 to do it right. You wouldn't be the first and wouldn't be the last.

Didn't we all, haha.

$55 each doesn't seem too bad. It's up to you whether you want to pay it or not
