Is this smoggable in Cali?

Will the car be "smoggable" in CA legally if I take a DPFI D15B2 out of a 88 Civic DX and swap in the MPFI D16A6? All of the smog stuff will be going in.
Yes, the engine is from the same engine family and it matched an configuration offered by the manufacturer for that year, make, and model.
Just make sure all the emission related components are on the vehicle for that motor.
This is considered an replacement engine and does not need to go to the ref.

Yes, they will just see it is a Honda SOHC angine and will assume it is the stock one.

The smog tech should notice the motor doesn't match the emissions label, and go from there. No need to try and hide it, just tell him.
The 1.5 has EGR the 1.6 does not, I would notice something that obvious wouldn't you.

Yes it it. As long as it is a SOHC they won't really worry about it. I smogged my jdm SOHC zc in my crx, and passed. It had evn said 91 zc on the vavle cover from atrco. Also I'm here is SF if it would make u feel better about bring your car in to smog
Dude. Listen to the guy who's name is "The Smog Man". I'm pretty sure someone who currently works as a smog tech in Cali knows what he's talking about.
