need gsr help!!!
I have a '94 civic with a gsr swap. The gsr motor has about 50,000 miles. Recently, i have begun to hear a random squeaking noise, which sounds like it is coming from around the transmission area. But, i'm not sure cause you can hear it from a good distance away anyway. Does it pretty much anytime...at idle and cruising, but only time it seems to stop is in acceleration. ALso, another thing is i am havin a difficult time with the car not wanting to go into both 1st and reverse. And even at sometime is sticky in switching gears. Could this have any connection to the squeak? By the way, i do have tranny fluid.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
could be the input shaft bearing going bad, and in turn, destroyed the pilot bearing casing, draining it of the lube it uses, and causing the bearing to squeak, the input shaft bearing, and rear countershaft bearing are known for going out all the time, with the second of the two bearings, it likes to walk out of its hole, causing the shafts to sway a bit, its one of those 60-80 dollar bearing fixes that people think thier entire tranny is dieing on them.
does it matter that the noise is only made when the engine is warm? Up to about 160 degrees you can not hear it. But, when it warms up to about 180 the noise starts and at 205 it is constant.
