how is that a mechanical fuel pump thing. i have that hole on my car to and if it were mechanical, there would be a hole in there going to the camshaft so a piston can rub on the lobe to work the pump.

No **** it's the back of the head. That's why everyone is saying the vtec noid + pressure switch go there. Quit trying to spread your dumb *** knowledge around.

People seem to forget that some D-series motors come carbed elsewhere and thus have a mech fuel pump that bolts there. Most if not all usdm heads have the boss there for it too my b1 does.
