I just bought my motor before the car!
I will be building a hybrid turbo EG pretty soon, and I just found a '97 B20b longblock. I bought it from a salvage yard for $500, it has a warranty and all. I'm stoked. I'm still looking for a clean EG to put it in.
I'm debating about slapping a vtec head on it, or just leaving it with the stock head. Either way, it's getting Hondata, JE pistons, Eagle rods, and a big *** turbo.

i dont think it fits in the engine bay (hood clearance) with a stock head
DEFINATLEY do a b20/vtec man. 180 to the wheels for less than half the cost of a type r and more torque?
im saving for my b20 now
hehehe.

Good job, 500 is a good price
I think Kamin means the intake manifold. But it does fit, well, EK's at least. My buddy is using the stock b20 intake manifold and it clears the hood fine. But, the LS intake manifold bolts right up.

1. The b20b head won't fit in your engine bay the manifold is too big. Your hood won't close.
i know somthing wont fit under the hood thats attached to the head
hehe

why not? it will be quite a bit better with a vtec head. The bigger valves, better flowing head are reason enough. Not to mention other small things that contribute to it being the better head. You rdoing pistons anyways, why not just put a vtec head on there also?
I'll probably put a vtec head on it, there won't be much topend without it.
A while back, I thought you had to have the combustion chambers enlarged to match the bore of the 84mm cylinders. But I've read that a few big name head companies said that is doesn't do anything for you and isn't worth doing in the first place.
