crx smoking
my white one, it smokes anything i put it up against, lol, my red one, it doesnt smoke, and my burgundy one has a little (what appears to be) white smoke, and it smells like oil and gas, the kid i got it from said oh it just needs a O2 sensor, but i figured a blown head gasket, so i did the gasket job including valve guides and such, and it still smokes, it is a 1989 dx crx, I was thinking if all else fails I can put the 88 engine in it. any ideas?
Are you 100% sure its white smoke?
If you REALLY want help on here it helps to use good grammar/english and describe the problem in better detail. I put that nicely too, so dont yell at me.

hmm, wasnt looking to yell or flame anyone, dont have time for that. as said earlier, "has a little (what appears to be) white smoke, and it smells like oil and gas," unsure what you meant by grammar and english, been in california 34 years, never had that one told to me. and I doubt there are many professors of english skills driving hot rod crx cars these days. It seems to me that the description was clear, what more would someone need to know? I just wanted some opinions on what else to look for, like a cracked journal in a block maybe, or something. I was mildly irritated at having to wait so long to post my question on this forum, now I am far less interested. keep in mind I am not yelling, just a little tweaked on the matter at hand. I missed purchasing a crx shell also that I would have paid cash for, and picked up already. so whomever is in charge of that idea of not letting trial users post at least a question SOMEWHERE, to maybe re-think it. I would like to be a productive member here, so hopefully I am not ruffling any feathers.
peace out!
peace out!
i am also having the same problem. about 2 weeks or so after i baught my rex it started smoking and it threw code. checked up on the code and turned out to be the o2 sensor so i replaced it and still i had the same problem and still threw code . so a friend suggested that i do a compression test so i did and found out that the #3 cylinder had 1/2 the compression it should of. o i suggest doing a compression test . it should from wat i remember ( if its a d-series) be a minimum of60 psi and a max of 180 psi . if you find you dont have adequet compression it could either be valve guides or piston rings. keep us updated.

hmm compression check sounds like the next step, I am putting the oxy sensor in this evening just to do it anyways, ill let you all know if it clears up, I dont have code tools here, but the college will do it for free in auto shop if i can catch them there.
