Default Running hotter than usual on interstate..

Ok, this is the 2nd time my car has done this to me and im about to leave in the morning to drive 300 miles and i dont want something to expletive up on the way.

Now, on the days its done it its been really hot and about 3:30 in the afternoon. While im on interstate my temp needle will rise to about 2/3-3/4 the way up but if i turn on my heater it shoots back down to where it always is (which is right under halfway). Should i be worried? Any kinda tests i can do?

Have you checked your radiator? Do you have plenty of coolant? Are there any leaks anywhere? Check your thermostat as well.

Thermostat is good, no leaks, and i had half a tank in the reserve and the radiator was full

Now as for the condition of the radiator...im not sure. I did flush the antifreeze as best i could and refilled with Prestone

My del sol vtec is doing the samething. My car has about 135k on it I gurantee its the factory thermostat that came with the car. I'm willing to bet assuming you never changed your thermostat that its just old age & slow to open. Replace it with a OEM Honda & let us know the deal.

its a 1993 Civic EX sedan - 222, 463 miles

ive only had it for about a month...so no i havent ever changed it. But letting it run in the driveway it opened and circulated the coolant. I think the radiator is shot.

Ok, but just because it still opens up doesn't mean its completely efficient. Over time, the wax kinda breaks down & is slower to open or sticks. Mines still works as well but I notice on really hot days mines does the same on the hwy but hey, it maybe your radiator also. If you do replace your radiator change the thermostat too (OEM).
