Default re-using obd1 ecu pins

When I was SEARCHING this topic, I stumbled upon something, and I wanted to confirm it.

I just finished my b16a swap and am throwing a cel for the knock sensor, put a new sensor in and still the light comes on. upon further inspection I noticed the pin on my hasport conversion harness is loose and wil not clip in my ecu plug.

So I need a new pin, I live nowhere near a junkyard. If I wanted to drive to one they usually only have a couple of imports, and the would be pissed if i hacked the plug off of a perfectly good harness.

When I was searching I came upon this thread

The user in this thread said you can reuse an a/c connector pin for the ecu. I removed my a/c and still have the plug on the r/f fender. I am running out of time to dork with this and I dont have time to wait for a pins to ship to me online, if someone could confirm this, that would be great. And I will start the process of taking this plug apart.

the knock sensor needs to be a shielded wire, the AC wire is not.
If you use that wire you will get a lot of false reads.
You can use the connector from the AC wire but not the actual wire.

microphone cable from radioshack work well, simply ground the shield at the ECU along with the other shields.

thanks a lot, you saved me from a wild goose chase. I will only be using the connector, so I should be fine, I will just clip it on the wire from the hasport harness (Which should be shielded).
