4WS Problems With yellow top?
Has anyone heard of Optima Yellow top messing with 4WS? I dont have naother battery to try but pretty much after i installed my Optima my 4WS went o the fritz and when i was going around a turn it gave out on me..lets jut say i don't like drifting like that thank god i missed the pole and just went threw a field at 65MPH.....i will let you all know what i find out.
ok, a battery is definatly not going to mess up yoru 4ws. do your rear wheels not lock up when the 4ws throws a code? never heard of anyone having that problem.. i'm definatly interested in hearing what happened. did you get towed or did the 4ws get back into position? i definatly want to know the specifics of what happened (being a fellow 4ws owner)
See thats what I don't get when i go around a turn with a code thrown it seems to give out literally like the rear end basicly feel like it drifts about 2-3" and when your moving 45mph and above, that will scare the **** out of you. Here is why i have the theory on the battery. When i got my car back in january it ran fine not codes etc for about a month, right about the same time i had installed my stereo system and battery. To make a long story short when the car had set all night in the cold weather 4WS would work fine but once i drove it somewhere and turned the car off the 4WS light would come on, on the next start. as it started getting warmer out i noticed 4WS working alot less. So the battery/voltage theory came into play b/c when its cold outside your battery voltage drops but after you drive it that would mean it was recharged and up to really good voltage. could be a shitty theory i know buy when i bought the car the 4WS worked fine, put system in 4ws stopped working. Then in january i put another motor in ran it w/o the system for a month and like i stated before as soon as the system/battery went in it started messing up. Also the system is out now so all i have left is to swap the battery today and i will let you know how that goes ........

Many of us have an issue with our rear wheels not locking when the 4WS system throws a code and shuts down.
I doubt the battery has anything to do with it, but just try another battery to see if it changes anything. You never know.

DO NOT drive your car fast or make any sharp tunrs while the 4WS light comes on. I drive my car with A LOT of caution when the 4WS light come son. I don't drive over 60mph either. The rear of the car is too unstable.

Well i replace the battery, nothing happened, light came back on so that theory is out the window. Does anyone have the link to 4WS codes i don't have a manual yet so im sorts SOL. I also checked all the wires running into the ECU in the back and nothing was lose there.....
