Code P0865 Problem
Someone please help, i recently noticed my 2006 honda civic si radio and lights would turn off and on along with the motor, when either idling or coming to a stop, but it would turn back on right away, within a split second. It would do this at different times and sometimes every 25-30 seconds. But i then realized the check engine light came on soon after. So i took it to Advance auto parts to get the code read and it came out with P0865 Engine control module/ Power train control module. I did some research and it could be little things like battery leaking or bad battery connection to the terminals. So i cleaned the terminals of corrosion and reconnected the battery. The check engine light went away and was good for a day or two with no problems. Then the problem came back, and i tryed starting my car a day later and the vehicle wont even turn over. The connection is fine, but the battery was dead. I jumped the battery and let the vehicle run for 10 minutes. I went to go and have the battery tested and probably buy a new one and no more then 4 minutes of driving and the car just dies and shuts off. I jumped the batter again and tried to drive it back to the barracks and it died again, had to push into the parking lot and it just sits there now. Im not sure if its the alternator now AND battery, or just the battery, or if my ECM's fucked. Help please.
I had it towed to a alternator and starter shop, and they took it apart, checked the alternator and said it was a short. They rebuilt it and reinstalled it. And charged the battery. Said the battery was fine, and I drove it the whole day no problems. Now today, it just started doing the same problem again. I'm going to call that shop, and tell them. And there's a 1 year warranty on it. And I'll have the battery checked again. Thanks.
