Default ECU codes and troubleshooting

I have a 91 honda accord EX 4 dr. When I drove someday the Odmeter/speedmeter was out off work. I kept driving for a few days and then I check the ECU codes. After I bridge the diagnistic connector and turn the ignition to ON position the Check Engine Light is ON and stay on without blinks. Please tell me what is the problem and how to troubleshooting?

It will only shoot a cel code if the the check engine light was on if it didnt shoot a code at you it might not be an electrical problem but mechanical. Majority of the time with dash gauge problems it usually is the gauges itself
