1st - i made my own healight buzzer... works perfect... but i dont understand the logic behind it... like how come the buzzer doesnt go off even when the car is on... can someone just simply explain it to me
2nd - I have a faze tach (my dx doesnt come with one stock), i connected it to the dimmer switch for the backlight on it... the problem is i connect it to one of the red wires and when i dim down on the dash, the tach dim goes up... then when i connect it to the other red wire the tach is always lit up bright blue, there is a third black wire but i have no idea what that one is for... i tried hooking the tach to that and it didnt do anything...
3rd - I want to change the bulbs in my dash and my tach to a diffrent color... like red... i was wondering if i would come across any problems if i tried doing this? like can i take my cluster out and not damage it all and change the bulbs?
thanks in advance

1. You've wired your buzzer to a continuous power source, you should wire to something which relies on reserve power when the car is off and then turns off when the car is on. What I would do is buy a switch to turn your buzzer on and off, or perhaps an on/on switch. I don't know, now I'm confusing myself, if you were at my house I could wire it up after pondering the concept of off/on/on...or does your buzzer work fine (I read it twice, you said it works perfect). The concept is basically that the buzzer is triggered when the release switch on the door is let loose, sending a continuous power source which your headlights are attached through the light switch. When the buzzer is going off, it's as well feeding off the same line as the headlights, when the switch goes off, it cuts off the ground and both the lights and buzzer will not operate when the door trigger is let off.
2. The black wire is a ground wire, wire it to a screw which is touching the bare metal of the frame (At least universally, I believe it is 99% the ground)
3. I would just not go into that...I can't offer any help on that because I don't know, just.....yea

thanks Metalluthier for the info
also i just remembered my friend said that when he tried taking out the cluster... he had to break the screw that holds the hazard lights button in... is this true?

no, you just unplug the hazard light. I've taken my friends cluster apart to wire some stuff behind it, not problem. It's basically just un-screwing everything and making sure you have everything unplugged, should come out pretty easy

Its easy to remove the gauge cluster. There is a screw behind the hazard light switch. Use a small flathead to get it out. Be careful with it though. After that... start from the top of the black assembly directly in front of the cluster. Pull that part out and work to your right. Once all that is loose it should just sort of pop out. Make sure you start at the top though there are clips at the bottom that you could damage. Also make sure, once you get the black peice out, that you disconnect the clock.
On the cluster itself there are 4 screws (2 on each side). I'd use a magnetic screwdriver (I do... i have big hands). Once they are out the cluster just pulls straight out. Disconnect the 3 or 4 wire clusters on the back and then you can start changing bulbs.

I didn't break anything. Pull the hazard switch out witha flathead and you'll see the screw in there. Simply unscrew, along with the two others infront of your gauge cluster and than pull it out on one side.
