Default Put in new motor, turns over, but not fast enough.

I spun a rod bearing, so I went and bought another motor. Motor was in wrecked car, I was there to witness it being started before I bought it. I've put in in my car, and I couldn't turn the crank with a 30" breaker bar after I hooked the transmission(automatic) to it, no matter what gear I was in. Starter wouldn't even turn it over. If I unbolt the bellhousing from the block, it will turn. Now, I've put it back on, and it's turning over, but too slow. If I didn't have fluid in the transmission, would that cause it? I've yet to try and start it since putting fluid in.

Connect one of those jump start battery chargers and keep it constantly on while you're cranking.

Torque converter is rubbing against bell housing. Don't know why. Any opinions?

ASE certified huh? Don't make me laugh.

If the torque converter is rubbing against the bellhousing, you either have it attached to a bent flexplate or you're using the wrong diameter flexplate/converter for the bellhousing. What transmission was on the engine when it started before? Why did you remove that?

</TD></TR></TABLE> Parts Specialist... Not Master Tech, or Driveline ASE certified... Flexplate is not bent. One on the motor, identical to mine. M24A Transmission in both. I even switched the flexplates today to make sure. Anyway, here's what we think happened after taking everything back down today: The transmission locked up, causing the bearing to spin. There is a **** ton of metal on the drain plug. Once the bellhousing is bolted to the motor, you can't turn it over with anything! And this is my POS daily driver, I don't want to put a manual transmission in it. The problem is not with the motor, it's with my transmission or torque converter I am pretty sure.

First prob sounds more like a starter to me. Pick one up from your local junkyard.

I had the same turnover problem back when I first got my civic. Being a total car noob i replaced plugs, wires, battery, and distributor cap. Starter burned out next day. Luckily in the parking lot of the shop I was going to get the problem looked into at.

That's what I thought it was initially, and I have like three starters, so I replaced it, and yeah, no difference...

Is the torque converter seated all the way in the transmission.
