thinkin about buyin a 1997 CX with 220,000miles... crazy?
Hey guys... I'm thinking of buying a '97 hatch CX with 220,000miles. Am I crazy?? If maintained properly, do you think this motor could still be pretty reliable? That's an ungodly amount of mileage in my books, but everyone keeps telling me with a Honda, that's no big deal. Owner told me his daughter went too and from school 500miles away every month or so, so it's all highway mileage.
I've also been told, when people rebuild Honda motors, all they do is replace the head? Or replace the internals of the head? Is this true?
What should I look for? Car is super clean inside and out, with original paint, no rust, never been in an accident.
What do ya'll think??
I know, I know, everyone will probably say, when the motor blows you can swap; but I was just curious what "high mileage" is considered with a Honda?

friend of mine has a 79 accord with over 400k.. not setting any records, but its never had any serious engine repair.. just regular maintainence.
Thanks for the input... I've been thinkin just that, what could I loose even if it did end up giving me a lil bit of trouble; motor wise. d16's are cheap cheap cheap.
What sort of drivetrain/suspension things should I be looking for?
How can you tell if cv boots are good, shocks are good, etc... etc...?

My 93 Si has 269500 miles and climbing. I beat the **** out of it every single day and it won't die. Plus, when it finally does give it up, I'll go to the nearest gumball machine and grab a D-series for $0.25 or however much they're running these days
EDIT: oh, I also recently sold a 97 HX with 212xxx miles on it for $3300, after I put a used Z6 transmission and clutch kit on it.
