Default 1993 Honda Civic CX

Hey all im new to these honda forums, as because I just got my honda 2 days ago lol.

I had a 1992 chevy blazer that I sold for 600. I then went and bought my cx for 400. The car is a little bit of a beater so far. The transmission is almost shot im thinking, the car has first and reverse, Im in the process of dropping i and checking it out now. When i drained the oil out of the transmission there wasnt any shavings or flakes of metal, so I dont think it was the gears. What I think it is going to be is the synchronizers.

The interior is like perfect, only one rip in the seat. the outside needs some work, i need to fix up some bondo and take a couple of dents out, lol. The engine sounds good. It smokes like crazy as of now, It needs new valve stem seals, and prolly the rest of the seals to make it quit smoking lol.

Thats about all I know so far, urm... Oh I'll post some pics up tommorow,

give me some ideas, my budget as of now isnt that high, i got a couple tickets lol. but ideas dont cost lol.

nice pick up for $400 bucks man. Man it really depends on what your wanting to do with the car? Do you want to daliy drive it or just make it a Project? Or a little of both? But i think man if it was me i would try and pick up another motor and tranny if you could, something like a D16z6 or a Jdm D15b would be a great way to start but like I said it depends on you and what you want to do and how much money you have to spend, well have fun and good luck

By the way that was my Frist Civic to!!!!!

Right now I dont have much at all lol. just got the 200 some left over from selling my blazer then I had like a 150 lol. so right now only got 350, lol I know it sucks.

And im wanting to make it a little bit of a daily driver / project. lol I have a daily driver, but Id always wanted a civic lol.

Im wanting to get a transmission for it first and keep the 1.5 in it now, but I cant seem to find a 1.5 tranny yet.

anyways yeah,

you dont need to worry about a 1.5 tranny. any d series should bolt on.

you bought the best car to work on. light chassis, obd-1, swap options are plentiful, and somewhat affordable to build. they also just look sick slammed with some si's, blades, fat fives, or rotas etc. whatever your budget allows. good luck! have fun!
