Can anyone give me a ballpark figure on how much it would cost me to rebuild this Z6 tranny. I know it should not have oil on the casing like that. Also, tranny whines in 1st and 2nd on sudden accelerations and also deceleration. Input shaft?

 

Whinning could be caused by many different things. I think it might be the pilot bearing which is a very easy fix. If its a bearing inside the tranny look into spending about 700+

That oil in the case looks like maybe a bad rear main seal or a main seal on its way out.

 

ya bad main/rear seal would cause that, i doubt its tranny fluid

 

Ok well my motor is out anyway and is going to be rebuilt so the rear main seal will be replaced along with the release bearing. If that doesnt fix it I'll just replace the tranny. Thanks fellas!

 

my tranny was way worse then that. it took me about 45mins with break cleaners to clean it out. i had some caked on there hardcore. replaced both seals and its fine now
