Default inquiry for h22 turbo

I was curious to see if it was normal for the wastegate to be blowing air out of it while the car is idling, it runs good but feels like theres more turbo lag then normal but at top end it is very responsive.

Not normal. Sounds like the turbo has enough capacity to over power the leak on the upper end. Wastegate valve stuck or some corrosion, foreign matter preventing a good seal?

Or internally, the wastegate is not sealing/closing properly.

so if the wastegate is leaking air should i get a new one or is it okay to run the car this way. i don't feel much loss of power but feels a little slugish out of low rpms.
