lets say that my tubo is maxed out , what would happen if I run it without a wastegate ? like let the turbo spin free

blow up, pretty much the wastegate regulated the boost. thats like have a wastegate and having a leak around there and it spikes

If you make as much power as the turbos can possibly make and you're still bleeding off exhaust gas with the wastegate, you'll just superheat the air and power will go down, and you will eat up the turbos in short order. I was maxing out a pair of T4 GT35R's on my car at about 30-31 psi was the most power they would make. With the wastegates disconnected it would spike to a little over 40 and then flatline back down to 35 at redline but it made less power everywhere than it did at 31 straight across the board because the IAT's were getting outrageous.

After you get out of the effeciency range of the compressor it starts pumping put alot of heat and raises the IAT's.
