mecahanic at fault?
alright some of you know about my 1990 accord auto and it's disheartening trip to the mech shop. and if you know that then you also know my car is not charging the battery. everything exept my blinkers works fine, but for some reason it won't charge. i think it's faulty wiring. my mechanic first thought it was my negative battery terminal(it had a little crack(i've ran it like that since i got the car)
)so from where it broke down the first time he charged my ma 50 bucks for the terminal, and tow that he is responsible for.(keep in mind the shop is far and he has dealt with only my mom since she works right next to the shop) basically he see's my ma as an easy target, probally thinks i'm some punk *** kid with no mech knowledge.
alright this is where the last post left off. i picked the car up from the shop the second time. drove home, was about to drive the car around the block until the battery went dead. luckily for me it started and immediatly shut off and ran out of battery. so i got on the phone with one of his guys that friday, asked for the guy in charge, and was told he'd be back on monday(i knew this was bullsh!t). i figured i'd be patient, waited till monday and called this time they told me he'd be gone all week. my ma stopped by the shop yesterday and miraculously he was in his office. he sent a mechanic to the house this morning(can you guys believe my ma didn't wake me up because she thought i'd give him a hard time?)and that guy told her that the excess noise coming from my engine was my starter and that my alternator was bad. my mom being an idiot and thinking there's good in everyone said oh thanks let the guy leave and woke me up to tell me after he left.as i'm sure you guys guessed i was pissed. soo pissed that i talked to my mom on my phone today, and the end result was me smashing my phone on the wall.
that's the story, here's the questions.
when you replace the timing belts(keep in mind he also changed the belt under the timing belt) what could be installed wrong that would cause a lot of noise coming from the belt area?
what's the best way to approach this *******? it hurts to look under the hood, the valve cover wasn't cross-tightened(i can tell because one nut is noticebly loose and the one across it is just barely getting tight). the cover for the belt doesn't sit right, there's a crack where the timing belt is visible.
let me know what you guys think,
for the record this is sugar tire service in pharr tx.(guys give me a break my mom told me she had this miracle mechanic who would fox my car, i didn't find out it was a tire place until i picked the car up the first time).

The timing belt should never be visible. You are missing a shield. If there is a crack in the belt, do not drive it. It could fail at anytime. Get it replaced and sue the crap out of the tire shop for your money back.
Sorry to hear about this problem but these are the types of situations you have to expect when dealing with these "no-namer" shops. I suggest you go to the HONDA DEALERSHIP and spend what is needed to get it right the FIRST time. I guarantee it cost you a arm and a leg but it be in top notch condition afterwards. I used to be a penny pincher and dealt with shops like these daily. It seemed they would find every little thing on my car to fix and charge me stupid amount of money. Even afterwards, the car would run really rough and worser than before I had dropped it off. And me being really new, thought it was NORMAL. SO I decided to bring it into a dealership on they and bashed the work that was done to m car saying, " WHOEVER DONE WORK IN THE CAR F***** EVERYTHING UP AND IT MSUT BE REDONE" SO I ended up paying for 1500 worth of repair and never got my money back from the other shop. What Iam trying to say is if you go CHEAP, you'll always end up paying more in the end.
