battery issues
Ok i just got my car from the body shop. they left the lights on one night i guess and the battery died.. then after tons of start and move start and move for a few weeks. so now it needs to jump and start since i havent let it run for more then 45 minutes at the very most.. so i decided to charge it with an old charger of ours... its real basic 6 or 12 volt and it has a meter on the front saying how many volts its using
now after about a minute it shuts off then 2 or 3 seconds it pops back on..
i can smell sulfer a little and i can hear a very mild bubbling and from chargin our forklifts at work im guessing this is normal
i have had this battery for a long time so it might need replaced but what causes it to keep turning off.
* i took it out of the car so i dont screw anything up

If it's over 3 or 4 years old, it may be time to replace the battery. I know exactly what that smell is, sulfur dioxide (rotten eggs). One or more of the cells or plates have sulfated. Definitely time to replace the battery.
