psi is an arbitrary value. all turbos will flow different CFM at the same psi

so maybe starting with the turbo you'd like to run will help you get answers...

Focus on the power and revs that the engine can handle,,not the "psi" of the turbo....

depending on the condition of your engine... you may want to start out 5psi-8psi.. then anything above 8 psi you need to do it right and get a good fuel-engine management... and tuning...

depends on the turbo once again and your setup intercooler or not. every 10 degrees cooler u run is 1 hp so there are a lot of factors, u need to research before commiting yourself to this http://www.homemadeturbo.com on a d15b2 i would run 3-5 psi on a t25 or 14b turbo depending on condition you will be running lean with a turbo d15b2 since it only has 2 injectors consider the mpfi swap.

a d16 and a d15 can most likely handle the same power, waste of money to turbo a d15 tho, i doubt it could handle more then 7 psi

Agreed. **** I feel like a *** for wanting to turbo my single slam ZC. I mean sure D

series can be kick *** if you put enough time into them, but then to go out and get your

*** handed to you by someone with a K or turbo B or something. Then your back to

square one, not to mention boosting on stock internals, risking a blown engine

everytime you wanna rape it, and murdering your gas mileage.Turbo street cars to me

are kinda scary, I mean how are you not gonna drive the **** out of it, hear that turbo

spooling, im thinking its gonna be tough as hell to drive it slow. If you do turbo and

then decide to drive it slow, because your 1 point off of getting your license taken,

well then youve got a turbo honda that you cant have any fun in. Dont get me wrong

no one has boost fever like me, but I think once I get around to it, I want my one crx

and then another for track time. You cant have a daily driver boosted honda, I mean

you can, but in my book its a recipe for disaster.

SiR99 - why do you doubt a D can handle no more than 7 psi? Was it the thousands of stock D's all over the country running 10-12 that convinced you?

EF8Singleslam - someone took a single slam on your honda knowledge.

Risking a blown engine everytime you want to rape it? - ever heard of tuning?

Murdering your gas mileage? -my turbo D gets 40mpg hwy and about the same as stock in the city

You can't have a turbo honda for a daily driver? - I've had 3.

Turbo street cars are scary? - Uhm...there are a few million of them out there. I suggest staying indoors.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I say this because iv been through it. beatthisspeed69, have you ever seen the internals of a Dseries? Well once you see it, you'll feel stupid for thinking it could handle much more power then stock. The rods are sooooo tiny they look like twigs. Iv seen a couple people make 220 whp from a d16y, but they F*cked up the motor like crazy so dont think your motors going to last forever just b/c u got a good tune. Remember, your not dealing with a b18 or a k motor, your running some old *** d15 which has been through wear and tear. I say do it, have fun with it, and just replace the motor with a d16 and leave that thing stock afterwards.

What do you mean by "f*ck up the motor like crazy"?

I ran 13-14psi on my D15b2 w/MPFI swap, t25. Ran great for months daily driven until the loser I sold it to blew it up doing who knows what to it. (The first day he had it, he filled it up with 87 octane and turned the boost controller all the way up).</TD></TR></TABLE>
True...very true
That thing went down hill from the minute the keys exchanged hands

I dont really want to argue with you guys, but you had your car for months, not years, so you dont know what would have happened to it if you had kept it longer, **** breaks all of a sudden or Instantly on turbo cars, most of the time it doesnt take as long as a NA motor would, So you honestly cant say how long your motor was going to last. Im telling him to DO IT, but a stock old *** d16 isnt going to LAST, just like any stock motor, Wut u think ur running some super motor? You think they made the car so it could handle more than twice its original power? Especially when the motors more then 15 years old

beatthisspeed69, Do it b/c you can change the motor for like 350 bucks with a d16a6, its a tight *** project but IF or WHEN you mess your motor up, make a thread about it just so we can follow up on your project.

just get some tuner toys rods (~225) and vitara pistons (~130). and your bottom end is basically set for boost. according to information from other sites, rather then rambling, 200-220 whp is what is considered the safe limit on a stock d bottom engine (of course depending on condition of engine)
