Default CAI whistling.

Just wondering is it normal to hear a distinct whistling like slurping/suction sound while the car is idling at 2000 rpm from the CAI area. Just got the CAI it was off a DX and it is now on a SI. I didnt notice any previous whistling when it was on the DX tho.

Just wondering. THX

Also im using a vlve breather instead of tube to CAI piping but a capped off that hole.

any ideas??????

get a valve breather filter they also look cool and the hose will hit the bottom of the hood when it closes and it may make u burn some oil

thats is just normal for most d16. the intake manifold sucks a lot of air. it does sound cool. everytime u shift, sounds like a BOV.

vacume hose keeps pressure equal w/ valve cover and intake. breathers on valve cover keep pressure even w/ engine bay, no good. vacume lin also prevents crap from getting sucked into valve cover. i dont remember actually mechanics, do a search will explane better than me

Do you have any fu*king idea what a breather is?? I assume you do cause your a very knowledgable honda person. Are you seriously saying that breathers suck sh*t into your engine?

There is a filter on a breather and I dont see how it could be any worse as some CAI kits the high end ones come with breathers.

oil collects on filter and clogges it CLABAM!!!!!!!!! thats why you dont put breathers on valve covers. its suposed to be free flowing not clogged full of oil and prevent flow

That whistling sound your hearing is actually prob. just because you never tightened down all your clamps, I know DSM's really good and have been around them forever....anytime you didnt clamp somthing down and you started to really suck air...you get a bad whistling noise....

Id seriously just check everything that is clamped on its a good chance you didnt tighten it down and its letting air seep out when the throttle is engaged or even when its not..your car is still sucking air in when your idling im sure you do know that though.
