I just installed my AEM short ram intake on my 2000 SI and at idle, its making a annoying whirring sound but its fairly loud. Im thinking its something in the piping. Anyone know the cause of this? Thanks.

At idle its normal to make a loud whirring sound? Sounds almost like a jet engine at ilde. Im not talking about the half throttle whistle..i already know thats normal. When my car is just sitting, it makes the weird whirring noise, but once i drive, its gone, then wen i stop, its back.

doesnt anything that sucks in air makes some kind of noise? well u did look in the pipe before u installed it and checked the filter. well point is, nothing is in there. it's a normal sound

sounds like a normal thing for it to do. The AEM intake makes that sound on my s2k as well...sounds like a jet liner every now and then

I have a AEM cai on my GSR and it does the same thing. Gets damn annoying at times and when I have people in the car they always ask wth is that.
