Default New to Honda-Tech

I'm new to the HT forum, but not new to cars by any means. I cut my teeth in the DSM world, helped build plenty of turbo hondas, and have since moved into the realm of 2JZ Land

Long story short, I picked up a DD car so that I don't have to drive my SC300 all the time.

Stats:

1997 Honda Civic DX
B16A Swap
CTR Tranny
DC Sports Header
Greddy EVO2 Cat-Back
Basic Bolt-Ons and what not.

My first step is quiet this car down. I was told it had a test pipe, which I thought no biggie, I'll just grab a factory cat from a buddy of mine and drop it on.

Come to find out, the previous owner had the flange off the DC Sports header cut and the test pipe welded to it directly. The test pipe was then flanged to meet up with the Greddy Cat-back. Luckly they didn't destroy the cat-back incase I want to sell it.

I was looking around HT and saw that alot of users run the JDM 4-1 header, and it seems like a nice alternative to the DC Sports one.

I came across this one: http://www.streetimports.com/p...d=410 and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with that vendor or that particular header? Or, if you know an even better place, hook me up. I am hoping that I won't have to have any exhaust work done, I want a bolt in solution for the cat I took from my buddy.

I want to pickup a new header so I can put a cat back on the car to see if it will quiet the car down before I have to sell the cat-back.

Thanks,

Shouldn't be any problems with bolting that up, bolting a stock cat to it and it connecting properly to the cat-back right?

I've also seen some recommendations / suggestions to run a Megan Racing header also.

Was the only one I could find.

Bolting it to a stock cat may bring up a problem. The collector on that header is 2.5", whereas the stock cat is only 2-ish." There is an adapter you can buy from http://www.inlinefour.com to have welded to your stock cat.

That the adapter you speak of?

I really don't want to have to drive the car without a full exhaust to a muffler shop.

i had that header... the polished one though not the black and it works great... it has a 2.5 inch flange so ull need some work... mine goes to a flex pipe though.. id suggest putting one of those in 2 a high flow cat?

High Flow cat is fine, I just need to find one that will mate up with the header and the Greddy Evo Catback.

Greddy uses the same PN's for the Civic EX, DX and Si models, so I can only assume that they all have the same 2.25 or 2.5 flange at the cat.

i think evo piping is 60mm or 2.36in. You will need the 2.5in flange from that site to get the header bolted up to the cat
