gsr with 240whp at 11psi??
Well I got my jdm gsr dynoed at a shop recently and she layed down about 240whp (238 @7500rpm). Now I'm not sure what the deal is. My boost gauge is off by about 1 psi when its turned off so im thinking its spiking somewhere around 10psi but is set for about 8-9. Now... The dyno guy didn't put a fan infront to help the front mount and it looks like he only went to 7500 on the graph. Could that be why the numbers are so low?
My turbo is a t3/t04e .63 trim. I ran open down pipe during the dyno session. Also, its not tuned either. Only chipped from xenocron (sp?). I have an AEM wideband and the A/F looks good. Shouldn't I be putting up a little more power than 240 at 9psi?

tune the car
get a different dyno shop
if there is no fan in front of the FMIC then you may as well not have an FMIC at all as it wont be cooling anything without air running over it- oh the radiator needs air too

ok, but lets just say i DO get it tuned and there IS a fan infront of the front mount. Do you guys think I can expect 300whp (like most people) after that? Seems like a huge jump if you ask me.
do you have the graph? If he wasnt running a fan i would think your IATs would be really hot signifcantly reducing your power. I would say you could at LEAST see 280whp tuned and fan'd-
Are you even using an ems? "chipped from xenicron" means very little, i know who he is and hes really good but "chipped" is a pretty generic term.... uberdata/hondata/chrome/neptune?

But still, 240whp with no "real" tune, only revving to 7500rpm,and no fan for the intercooler is very good.....There are some people that dont make that much with a great tune and revving to the full 8000rpm.......
post the graph, it might help us out...
7500 or 8k doesnt matter, stock motor and a medium sized t3/t4 you should me making max power at or just before 7500. your missing 50 hp wont be found in those 500 rpms.

you're running on a basemap, it's not a tune. it's not going to show real power. you're just going to run rich conditions.
get a proper tune and you'll see numbers that are much more impressive.
as for the fan, it has to be the big high output fans to make a big effect. those small box fans that most shops have and are usually at home don't make enough CFM to really make it like "real road conditions."
think about it this way, your car is traveling at 80mph on the freeway, there's a lot of air pushing through going under and over the car. now think about your car traveling 80mph in place, do you think that small box fan can make the same amount of air to pushing through the car as if you were traveling on the freeway? but i guess you're thinking every bit helps right?
