Well I got my muffler all welded up and tip and all that. I want it way louder. Now it has a really deep throaty note as expected but not loud enough.

So will it really be a lot louder if I take off my resonator?? Does that 12" pipe make a big difference.

Should I gut my cat?? I heard it will make you exhaust note high pitched and you loose the throaty sound ??? I want low.

If i DID TAKE OFF THE CAT would it be really much louder.

Finally if I took off both the cat and resonator will it be really loud.???

BTW I'm using a dynomax Turbo muffler universal.

I had my resonator taken off, but not my cat. It makes a notable difference, but I have no idea how it would sound if it didn't have the cat.

 

Loud usually means unrestrictave. and you know im young i need a loud head turner low exaust system.

 

I am young too, but to each his own. I prefer the quiet sleeper, although i do have exhaust on my civic so, it is pretty loud.

 

You're stupid, Riceboy, do you not realize that a really loud car which is slow as crap is embarrassing to drive. I can just imagine the Camry wagons passing quietly right now.

I never new a d16a6 turbo running 11 psi was slow.. Passing b16 and ls all day.

Only car beats me is a b18 CRX HF an 88.

um you should wait a while until you do something like that. your new mufler will take a little while for the fiberglass to break down so youll really know what kind of sound youll have.
my tananbe took like a full month until it reached its real volume when i first put it on there i was like wow its serieously quieter than stock.

well my car wont be insured for another month. cause right now its in my shop getting my WW kit put on slowly and perfectly. I still have to finsih adding my intercooler,zydne ECu,New JDM Cluster,all interior white,Sparco seats and a whole lot of more work to do...

I got all the parts just need to do the time taking work.


So I was thinking whille im at it why not take it off.

I had the EXACT same muffler as you with a straight pipe (no resonator or CAT). It wasn't that loud unless you punched it. The reason why it is not going to be really loud is because that muffler is chambered, not straight through.

 

sweet that is how I want it loud when your on the gas and quiet when you let off the gas.

Was that how it worked.??? l ike over 5k its loud then when you let off not as loud.

 

Yea...at about like 4,500 rpm it will get louder. Its good...

 

ok its cool cause i have barely driven the car and have owned it for about 2 months.

I drove it for 2 blocks tops so far and that was fun I have to admit. This car will be hella fast once im done tho.

you dont want it real loud it gets old real fast, ive got a greddy sp on my civic i like you can only really hear it once you start to get on other than that its not loud at all when your just cruzing
