Default bad idle when a/c is on

heres the story... its hot outside about 104 degree's and im driving down the road with my a/c on... when i step on the clutch the rpm's drop to about 450 - 500 rpm and makes the car shake badly.. and then it roams up to about 800 and fluctuates between 600 and 800 rpm.. this never happens when its about 85 degrees.. only happens when its hot outside... i have basic bolt ons header cai.. and another thing.. my a/c compressor tends to **** on me during hot temperatures also.. when im idling.. you can hear my a/c turn on and off after a few seconds.. and everytime it switches on my car idles like crap. does it mean i have a bad a/c compressor? or switch? let me know what you guys think the problem is..

That sounds pretty normal. What you're expriencing is heat soak. You can bump up your idle, that should help with the "shake". I bump my idle up to about 900-1000. If I set my idle a bit lower, I'll get the "shakes every once in while coming to a light.

As for your AC compressor, it is normal for it to cycle. It is not suppose to stay on constantly, it sounds to be working fine.

for the a/c its wierd.. one day i went outside and the a/c would not turn on at all... the green light on the a/c button was lit but the fan's or the compressor didnt turn on at all.. and for it turning on and off... it does it constantly... when its hot itll turn off one second and the next second turn on.. and 2 seconds after it turns on itll turn off.. i dont know if its the compressor itself or someone said it might be a pressure switch?

OK, yea that sounds like something is wrong. I misunderstood you and thought that it was cycling through, but not constantly.

Test your pressure switch to see if it's still working.

when there's not enough freon, the pressure switch will turn off the compressor. or when the compressor lacks oil, it will shut itself off.

and as far as bumping the idle goes... thats adjusting the screw on the throttle body right? b/c if thats it then my screw is all the way open.. but still rough idle.. and oh yeah.. i dont have cruise control so the vacuum hose is just hanging from that... would that be a cause for rough idle?? my cruise control was crushed when it got smashed by a drunk driver.... i have soo many questions... soo confused.

If your cruise control vac line is still attached to your IM and the end of it is just sitting in open atmosphere, then yes it will affect your idle.
