Default Gain on 2006 SI, after mods - Phase I

Good afternoon,

Many of you know my posts as either Hellzcivic or Tallwin. A while back I mentioned I was taking my 2006 SI to Dynospot Racing to have my 1st phase mods installed and have some dyno's done.

Well, I just picked up my car from Dynospot Racing. First I want to say, the guy's at Dynospot Racing were awesome. Not only did they do a great job on the install, but they explained everything. They also offered great advice on what the best path is, I should take to reach my end goal.

Ok, so now for the info:

Phase I mods done.

AEM CAI
Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
Greddy EVO II Catback

Dyno run 1: Completely Stock (No Mods)

@ 8,000 rpm - 4th gear

Max Torque 133.3
Max WHP 185.7

Dyno run 2: Phase 1 Mods installed

@ 8,000 rpm - 4th gear

Max Torque 134.7
Max WHP 188.2

The gains in the mid-range were much better them then the max. At 5,300 rpm, the torque went from about 115 to 125 and the whp increased about the same. I can definitely feel it during acceleration.

The max gains may seem small, but I am not complaining. Based on my discussions with the Tech at Dynospot, my next set of mods will be a Header / Cat combo, once one is released (probably by DC), and the Hondata Reflash.

The hope is that a big enough demand will exists so that Hondata with release a K-Pro mod, but only time will tell.

I would be more that happy to post some pics and the dyno chart if I could figure out how to load them in the thread.

More to come, so stay tuned.

As I understand it, it does not raise hp. It does however assist in keeping the intake air cooler, which improves the power band. The IMG gains are not something you will see on a dyno, but more something you feel during acceleration.

The intake gasket is mostly recommended when doing the reflash or adding a header. In my case, it is one less thing I need to do when I do my phase II mods.

If someone can better explain this, please do. The tech at Dynospot explained all this too me, but I am afraid my head started spinning after the first couple minutes. lol

Anyone have their own dyno from Injen CAI yet? I am ordering mine soon and would like to see how it has improved their performance. Will be doing IMG and exhaust soon as well. So, if the dyno includes additional mods, it will be nice to know.
