There is a stamp on the head with the date on it, but as far as the block goes, I'm not sure.

You can tell if its a JDM motor if it doesn't have number behind the code.

Example:

USDM - B16a2
JDM - B16a

USDM - B18C1 (GSR)
JDM - B18C (GSR)

No. The Del Sol had the B16A3 in the US. All true JDM motors do not have a # after the engine code. If you have a "JDM" motor in you car and it says B16A2, or B18C1, then it's not JDM. Even EDM (European) motors have #'s after the egeine code.

For clarification, the B16A3 was the OBD-1 del Sol VTEC engine ('94-95). The OBD-2 del Sol VTEC engine ('96-97) was stamped B16A2.

So, I jus took a look at the website and I can see where "philosofy1" got confused at. We forgot to mention the fact that JDM B16 has 2 model. the First gen and the 2nd gen. I believe the webiste posted B16A2 JDM as in regard to the second generation B16 which "SUPPOSIVELY" push 170 HP.

Yeah, B18C could either be a GSR or ITR - I guess you just have to know...I mean the ITR kinda stands for itself when you look at it....
