D16Y8 Crank Help!!!!!
I am wondering if the rod journals are the same on my 97 Civic EX? I have 2 rod bearings starting to go out and i have another motor i can use parts off of, but am not sure if they'll work. Any help would be great.
Also if anyone knows a site were i can order new rod bearings from, that would be great too.

First you'll need to get the code stamped on the crank denoting one part of the size (these should be letters). Then you'll have to look on the connecting rod, right on the space between the cap and the rod, and there should be a number stamped on it. Match the number with the letter on the Honda bearing chart, and that'll tell you what bearings to order. Don't bother using bearings off another motor--the D16Y8 bearings are around $2.50 per pair (one pair makes one journal).
Any Honda dealer can get the bearings for you, if you tell them what color. They're so cheap, there's no sense in going to hparts.com or majestic or anyone else...
