Default My boost Theory...

i think i've figured out why i can't boost in 1st gear like before.. i believe its because of my slipipng clutch.. you see, when u boost on a slipping clutch, the engine sees a less notable load similiar to tryin to boost in neutral. same thing as in the other gears where i can't get full boost, because of the slipping clutch.. also lately, my car seems to feel so much weaker than when the turbo was just installed.. i'm banking on the new clutch to bring new life and pep back into my car..

have you guys felt the same when u guys just installed ur turbos on a stock clutch.. ?? just curious cuz i'm beginning to think i'm all alone on this..

You are correct that a slipping clutch will kill boost by not loading the engine when it's in gear so that may be your problem.

I have a j1 trans. My first gear is so low, it only builds like 2psi by 6k. Switch into second, and the boost comes on. There just isnt any load in 1st, so its not much different than neutral. In affect, yes a slipping clutch would decrease spool.
