about to chip my jdm p30 ecu, got a couple questions! ***PICS***
I started reading up on PGMFI.ORG's site about chipping the jdm p30 ecu here

but for some odd reason the J1, C49, C50, C92 all have capacitors like it was there factory, and the "74HC373" SMD chip is there as well.
Would I just need to de-solder the 28-pin ROM and replace it with a socket and a 29C256 EPROM with a bin?

Dude, be very careful taking the stock chip out and dump the rom and post it on pgmfi.org, evidently they love the stock reprogramed dumps, I'm going to send relic1 a link to this thread now,

i got a p08 box before that also came prechipped with the gold sticker stock, i couldn't get it to work with crome. it would work for a minute, then i'd get a solid CEL. hope yours doesn't do the same thing

the P30-010 is all ready dumped and documented. all though PGMFI.org says that the ECU isn't ready for a chip. Yours obviously is.
Could you please send me a copy of the bin in the OEM chip, so I can compair it to the one on PGMFI just to make sure there isn't multiple version out there.
(you can also post it up on PGMFI.org yourself - take credit for the work that way)
If you knew what the ECU was off of it would be helpful also.

That one is very interesting. 244 code should be a P29, and the G8 code is not currently known according to the wiki.
