Having trouble aligning strut with rotor
This is how it looks like as of now:
I can't seem to get the two holes to line up because it seems like the strut is hanging too low. I realize that right now the strut assembly is tilted towards the right, but that is because if I line it above the axle, it pushes against the CV boot. So I would think that the whole strut has to be pushed up some more, but I can't push it up any further. It's already lined up at the top, and the 3 nuts holding it at the top are already bolted. What am I doing wrong?
The top is half-bolted on.
I can't lift the strut any higher to clear the cv boot.
View from the left side.
I don't see how jacking up the rotor would help because it would only squish the boot against the strut some more.

I've already torn my CV boot trying to force it to line up, that's why I have that crappy blue autozone replacement boot. I don't want to force that one to rip too.
