Stress on stock shocks
I am planning on going with some lowering springs for that sporty look but i dont want to completly ruin my stock shocks. I know i should go with some coilovers its just that they are so expensive. Probobly somthing to think about next winter/early spring. For now though, if i lower it by about 1.5 or so, will that cause major problems or will my shocks be ok for a while? thanks
some have problems, some dont. also depends on driving style. just try it yourself and if it blows, come bitch on it on HT when it happens. i personally wouldnt. its better to get shocks/springs or coilovers than to do just springs. just start saving up.
its mostly about your driving style... daily driver? probably no major problems, unless the roads in your area suck ***
i used to be a daily driver after i lowered it on H&R sports, then i went autox... some 'spirited' driving on the streets, and my front shocks are going really bad... everytime they compress, i could hear it, sounds like its leaking... its only been 6 months too lol

well i live in minnesota so i will need to put my stock wheels back on in the winter and i will probobly put the stock springs back on too. So i will only have these on for about 3-4 months before it snows and then i'll probobly save up for some coilovers over the winter. my main concern is that if i get these, worst case scenario is that the ride is rough. Its not like my stock shocks will completely eat sh** and blow out right?
My sister's EM2 has been riding on Tenzo-R springs on the stock shock/struts for quite some time now. I do not recommend it, because her car rides like a bus, but if you absolutely HAVE to be lower than it should be fine for about 8 months. I would never recommend putting aftermarket springs onto stock strut/shocks then removing them for the stock setup. Too much chance of problems.
Those Koni's will work just fine.

just get some neuspeed sport springs. lowers 1.5 in the front and 1.75 in the back. i've had them on my stock shocks for about 2 years now, and they're still going strong. its all about how you drive. you need to go really slow over speed bumps and obstructions. not taking turns like you are auto-xing helps too.
the nuespeeds were the ones i was lookin at too. I dont plan on tearing up the road, just a daily driver with a little fun here and there. Would it be possible to buy the nuespeeds now and then put those on some koni struts?
You could put the Neuspeeds on Koni's, and I would recommend it that way as well. I wouldn't put them on stock shock/struts. But, some people get lucky with good driving techniques, like Rennen did.
