Precision Turbos mismatch policies?
i have heard that PTE doesnt make mismatch-turbos like a stage 5/67 or gt35/67... so how is it that they make a 42/76 and a 42/78? the supra guys love those two turbos... just wondering if boostefd or art or stan or tony or the other PTEdealers would know
I think it might go along the lines of "people want it, we'll build it" if nobody has done it, and "that's not a good idea, won't work" if a competitor does it first?
when i was running my 35r last year they we talked back and forth on a few different options that we could possibly do to get more out of it, and they seemed open to building whatever....but nothing came of it. i think tony's right...if you tell them what you want, with in reason, then they will try to make it happen.
I think it's hit and miss with Precision. Some days someone will say they wont do a 1234 and other days someone will say they will do a 1234. Have not figured it out yet, lol

they build turbo's. they dont manufacture the parts other then their few compressor housings.

They do cast some of their own housings, but for casting to make sense you have to make alot of pieces. By "custom covers" i'm assuming you mean something for a specific application, in small quantity, which nobody is going to do. There a pretty big up front cost to make castings and nobody is going to make one off stuff.
yep, i was happy when they started to make thier own 4bolt t3 housings, my gt3561e is the first 4 bolt turbine housing they made
but it wouldn't make sense to custom make a housing for 5 turbos, or even 50 turbos, i'm sure the upfront costs is outragious.
