I'm going to let her sit for a while...
Alright,
I have an 88 CRX Si with the B16 and all the goods to go with it. Right now it is street legal, but now I have a truck and plan on using it as a daily driver, and I also plan to use it to haul the crx around.
To make a long story short, I am going to make it full-race. But for financial reasons, I am going to take the insurance and registration off the rex and let it set at my dad's house in Kingman, AZ (four hours away) for a year or so and just wrench on it every holiday (every 4 months). Althouh, I have to let it set for a year before I start wrenchin on it, college, money, etc...
My question is, what is everyone's suggestions for leaving it out there for so long? Its not going to be garaged until its re-painted. But I plan on covering it. But what else do you do when you let a car sit for that amount of time? Tires, engine, oil, etc...
Thanks!

disconnect the battery (saves battery)
put it up on jacks (saves tires)
maybe remove the gas or add that stuff to the gas for storage...... although my civic did sit for 4 1/2 years and the gas that was in there fired it right up
good luck

Yeah, whats Damp Rid?
Yeah, I plan on keeping the tires shaded, ive seen some explode down here in AZ. Would draining the oil be a bad idea?
I also planned on removing the gas, whats the best way of doing that?
Thanks for all the suggestions!

Siphon it into a container.
Or, if it's almost on empty, let it run! lol.

Damp Rid is a product that comes in a small container that you put in damp areas of your home or wherever and it attracts water molicules out of the air to keep the air from being "damp" hence the name damp rid. Its really good **** , I use the small ones in my bathrooms , one behind each toilet and have no problems with the hot steam from showers causing any mildew or what not on my shower walls.
Might not be a bad idea , could cut down on the funk odor that all cars get when there stored for long periods.

There is there link for product info.
You can buy it in most grocery stores.
i would change all the fluids before you let it sit
specially brake fluid and engine oil. thas my opinion. all the other stuff sounds good. i would drive it at least 1ce every three months at the minimum. get it nice and hot and change the oil. better to fire it up at least 1ce a week. ask your dad to drive it man my dad loves to borrow my crx haha.
