ok so i did a mini over the weekend and i have some problems. (d16y8 head on a d15b8 block, 95 cx) first off i havent hooked up the vtec yet but i dont think that has anything to do with it. im also running on 1wire o2 sensor when it should be four. now i have a p08 ecu 5speed. and when i turn the car on it idles normally and then from there i can rev up the engine, sounds real nice, alot louder than before i must say.but when im driving it around its almost like im towing 1000tons behind me. the car runs and and it runs real slow. in 2nd gear it goes up to 20 and stops accelerating. at first i thought it was the ecu and maybe its an auto but its a 5speed and im sure. so could it be the o2 sensor thats causing this problem? or is it the timing? or what??? please help!

check your wiring and timing

 

it does throw a CEL when im using the P08, but not the p05. and i was trying to check the code on the CEL but i couldnt find the damn wire im supposed to check with. i was reading the sticky above but i couldnt find any wire they were talking about.

 

the first time i did my timing belt it was a tooth or two off,made it sound very differnt and no power check your cam timing easy to mess up

Do U know how 2 wire up VTEC 2 NON-VTEC? any one have a P28 ECU FOR sale Manual ?

 

im using a y8 timing belt. i thought that should work. but when its idling i can smell fuel. maybe its running too rich.
another question? anyone know how to convert a 1wire o2 sensor to a 4wire sensor? same car. i searched and read the sticky but couldnt find anything.

 

you need to run a p2p (96-98 ex 5sp) ecu, thats why your car has runability problems.

 

Is your ignition timing and cam timing properly adjusted?

check timing. i ran into the same problem.. lined it up to wrong timing marks..
