Is the TurboXS RFL bov too much?
Will the RFL bov hurt my boost performance? I'm currently running a k20 greddy kit at 6.5psi.
I've heard that this bov releases too much air pressure, hurting the boost performance...

No the RFL has a cap you take off and add or remove washers to make it tighter or looser.
I have had to try to fix one on a friends car that was leaking like crazy and I have to say the design wasn't that good and the piston gets sticky as hell. He was only running 13 lbs and the thing was leaking so I would stick with a more proven bov if I were you. Something like the Type S, SSQV, or a tial.

local guy has the ssac version of that bov. hes had it about a year and a half . no problems and he only runs 5 psi (dd). it is a very simple design, but if you keep the piston in it lubed it will work. you might as well buy the ssac one though and save some money, its identical to the turbo xs. but if you dont trust ssac I can def understand that too.
I have the Really Freakin Loud on my car. I'm running 17 PSI right now and don't seem to notice any problems. If you have a healthy sized turbo it really is loud as hell. A real loud "ppssshhhh", followed by this mechanical sounding wine. I like it, though it does live up to its namesake. When the turbo is only boosting a couple pounds, like maybe 5 PSI you can't really hear it...its there, but not much.

ive been using my for almost 2 years as well. my only gripe is how it's mounted.
i tighten mine down, allen bolt and the nut to secure it, and within a week or 2, i hear it rattling again.
besides that, it works wonderfully.

Does yours have that rubber O ring inside? Unless your not tightening down the lock nut enough I don't see how the allen screws could easily back out. I always forget to undue the lock nut first and freaking crank on the damn screws trying to get them off....very secure.

Thats because WRX's have such small turbos that they practically make boost at idle. I would get annoyed of it too if it was as loud as it was when just casually shifting. Me on the other hand with an SC34 on a d series dont make full boost til around 5500, and by then your flying and I think it sounds cool. At low boost (1-5 psi) mine kind of wistles and I like that too. I've had mine installed for around 4 months and I like it soo far and haven't have a problem with it yet.
