My stock Acura hu won't play cd's anymore:
What should I check before I go and spend money on a new one? The radio still works, just when you put in the cd, it reads the error code, and spits the cd back out. This happens with all cds. If the problem is not the hu then I don't want to go buy another one.

Not to be a dick, but if the head unit won't play cd's anymore, what the hell else could it be?
It's either the laser is out of alignment, or the mechanism is shot... Start looking for a replacement.

you could try a cd lens cleaner. But take b18c_ej8 advice and take that money a put it towards a new headunit, You would be buy a new fresh headunit, More features-mp3-wma-data- on some models. Way better sound, most headunits are over 25 x 4. Or spend about the same to fix the stocky

Yep it has to do with the laser which reads your CD OR it could also be your servo motor which spins the CD. Well I will not get technical but it's an internal problem and with the current prices of good quality head units, I think it would be better to just get another one.
BTW, I use to work in a AV repair shop once and I must say the least repairs we had were on Pioneer and Alpine. Personally, I always use Pioneer.

The rotation is still the same, so I don't know what's there to get confused about.
