wait..you don't want to buy a seperate player to play your tapes, but you want to find out if there is any seperate tape players that will play your tapes without getting a seperate tape player? i'm confused...

HELP!
if your head unit has an input (typically like a head phone jack or an input plug/adapter that has RCA plugs) you can hook up a walkman that way..
another way to do it is.. theres this device called a CD feeder or sum $hit like that.. its about $30 at radio shack or tower records or Circuit city or other electronic/music stores..
it is intended to hook up a Discman and it will output the sound through an unused FM stereo channel/frequency.. but I'm sure you can use that device to get output from a walkman.. and feed the signal thru an unused frequency..
how it works is like this.. you plug in the device to ur cigg lighter so that it powers itself and also it has power outputs (and comes w/ a bunch of adapter plugs for difference diskmans) find the one that fits your walkman (tape) and make sure u get the voltage and polarity set correctly..
now lets say frequency 88.90 (im just pickin one out randomly) in your area is NOT used/NOT a radio station.. so you dial in the sound feeder device (hooked up to your walkman and cigg plug already) to 88.90.. now you tune your car stereo's FM tuner to 88.90.. and press play on your tape deck.. and that thing should make an FM signal to output the sound on your walkman.. and your Head unit should pick up that signal and the sound from your walkman comes out the Sound Feeder should be picked up from your tuner and outputed to your speakers..
let me see if I can find this device on the web so u kno wtf I'm talkin about.. this is the cheapest way I can think of unless ur deck has AUX inputs.. this is for pricepoint, not sound quality... it should suffice though..
Lolz BTW I don't even own tapes anymore.. I replaced my perfectly working Alpine tape deck w/ a CD unit and mp3 changer.. Lolz
edit: here u go bro.. this is what I was talkin about..

hmm the one shown here is operated by AA battery.. but I know for a fact there is one that plugs into the cigg lighter so u dont have to keep buying batteries.. my friend has it.. I think its like the sound feeder 300 or sumthing...

i'm gonna tell you know that that thing really sux. i had it for my mom's car cause hers was only tape player and i wanted to play cds......well i hooked it up to my discman and since it uses a radio channel it has alot of static. and it adds the loud hiss to the music. really a terrible investment of $25.
well he's trying to listen to tapes so the output quality isn't all that great either.. but thats wierd because my friend used it in his eclipse for awhile and although it didn't come close to my Alpine cd player.. it was decent for the $25 he spent on it.. there wasn't hiss and stuff...
the link didn't work?
its called "sound feeder" then followed by a number.. the higher the number the "supposed better" it is or whatever Lolz..
they should be under $30.. like around $25... and stores like Circuit city, Sam Goody (the music/cd store), Tower Records (music/cd store), Best Buy, etc.. should carry them...
it worked fine in my friends eclipse (fixed/fully extended antenna)... plus if it doesn't work well for you for whatever reason you can always return it so its worth a try...

hey rasta...your 919 deck may be able to use the kenwood aux input plug...i can't find my 'wood lit...what it does...it plugs into the cd changer input and toogles open the audio input and its has female rca plugs on the end...when you select source it will open it up...now your deck would have to have changer controls that are not being used.......Same thing goes for you Pioneer and alpine people as well...
Hope this helped
