hey guys, about a few months ago there was a post involving a motor called the "poor man's type r", im just curious, what kind of motor is that?

a b18c1 bottom end with a b16 head
and you know the adds type r valvetrain , cams , intake and even TB

what about the ls/vtec, or is it just the gsr bottom end with b16 head

That's a B18B bottom end with a B18C1 head.

If you are going to build a motor, build a crvtec.... thats a B20 with a vtec head (I think they use a b16 head... guess you could use a b18 head also)

No replacement for displacement.

my buddy's "POMANS R" setup was a gsr block with jdm itr pistons, gsr head with itr valves, valvetrain, cams and intake manifold.....

The ITR intake manifold doesn't bolt onto a gsr head.

The ITR intake manifold doesn't bolt onto a gsr head.
unless that he is running a similar design like skunk manifold
