TDC
Ok I just did a fresh rebuild on a d16z6 motor and Im just making sure I got it right, when Im setting the crank and cam position, is it the cam and crank both in the Up position, or the cam up, and the crank a few degrees ATDC??, My helms manual says my crank should have 2 notches one for TDC and one for timing but im only seing one?? any help?
I got everything back together the other day, But Im having some "timing issues"
and it wont fire, If you are looking at the cap from the drivers side cylinder 1 is the one in the 9 o'clock position and it goes clockwise from there, 1-3-4-2 is the firing order I believe Im right there. I just think My cam and or crank timing is off..

doesn't a z6 came line up with the block, using teh two marks on the cam..and the crank is the lone mark on the pulley lined up using the timing cover marks or a marking on the oil pump.... Y8 is wat i got

correct, the crank timing mark is on the timing cover looking down at the pulley you will see the mark that lines up w/ the lone mark on the crank pulley. the cam gear has the UP mark towards the top and the two hashes on the sides lined up w/ the top of the block bottom of the head.

thxs, but for the verification...(since i'm suspecting this...) the Y8 uses an arrow on the back timing cover to set timing against the left mark cam, right lol...i ask since i set it using this mark..car bogs, but i think it's else where..
